Technologies Developed

  • Developed an efficient technique for buffalo female germ plasm cryo-conservation through rapid freezing with less volume of cryoprotectants in an indigenously developed economic cryodevice, which yielded 100% post thaw recovery.
  • A novel and efficacious three dimensional (3D) microenvironment was developed for an extended in vitro culture of buffalo embryonic stem cells and preantral follicles, synthetic surface matrix and gel droplet micro encapsulation was developed for embryonic stem cells & embryoid bodies.
  • Expression pattern profile and characterization of developmental important genes (38 in numbers) in in-vitro produced and in-vivo derived buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) embryos. First global report for comparison of the expression pattern of in vitro and in vivo generated buffalo embryos.
  • Buffalo embryo genomics; generated relevant molecular markers for developing buffalo embryos, molecules of molecular signaling pathways including different transcription factors(complete cds.) of pluripotent embryonic, fetal and adult stem cells. Generation of buffalo pluripotent stem cells using different somatic cell support and synthetic matrices, pluripotency was confirmed through teratomas.
  • Molecular and cellular characterization of buffalo, caprine and canine mesenchymal stem cells derived from bone marrow, adipose tissue, cord blood, amniotic fluid and Wharton's jelly. First global report of the derivation of the buffalo bone marrow. Therapeutic application of stem cell technology using both stem cells and conditioned media derived from them, for livestock and pets using autologous, allogenic and xenogenic modes.
