SALIENT ACHIEVEMENTS (2015-16)

  • Central Government’s flagship program “Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav” program has been initiated and all the scientists of the institute have been assigned villages. The program has been embarked and field work by the scientists is in progress.
  • Central Government’s another flagship program “Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana” has also been initiated in two identified villages.
  • Interface meets between IVRI and field veterinary officers / livestock extension officers / dairy development officers have been organized in more than 20 states since 2011.
  • Collaborative efforts between IVRI and various line departments, SAUs and ICAR institutes.
  • Kisan melas at IVRI regional stations located in Kolkata, Palampur and Mukteswar campuses and at Majuli Island, Jorhat, Asom.
  • Institute exhibition stalls across states including Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Punjab and at different places within Uttar Pradesh.
  • Animal health camps at “Sansad Adarsh Gram” villages and Akha village on Saturdays.
  • Organized workshop on “Developing Road map for Agriculture Development in Upper Gangetic Plain (UGP) Region” in collaboration with ICAR-ATARI, Kanpur & ICAR-Indian Institute of Farming Systems Research, Modipuram.
  • Several Kisan Gosthies organized with the help of scientists across different disciplines.
  • Five Farm School on Air programmes were organized in collaboration with AIR, Rampur and AIR, Bareilly
  • During the year 2015-16, a total of 313 calls at Kisan Call Centre (Phone #:1800-180-1551) & IVRI Helpline (Phone #: 0581-2311111) were received and provided on the spot solutions.
  • A total of 6040 beneficiaries visited IVRI which included academicians, researchers, students, entrepreneurs, farmers, farm women and others.
  • The Joint Director, Extension Education and other scientists at Joint Directorate of Extension Education have also been honoured with Member, ICAR – Institute Board of Management Committee and many awards such as Swamy Sahajanand Saraswati Award of ICAR, Best teacher award of IVRI Deemed University, young scientist awards and awards for best paper presentation in national seminars and symposia by professional societies.
  • Revenue of Rs. 38, 13,714.80 was generated through organization of training programmes and sale of technology products, farm publications, farm produce etc. in the year 2015-16.
