Academic Council - IVRI

Powers and functions of the Academic Council:
Composition of last Academic Council (for 2 years i.e. 21.10.2019 to 20.10.2021) Composition of present Academic Council (20.12.2021 to 19.12.2023)
  1. It shall be the main consultative, deliberative and task implementing body in the field of education and training.
  2. It shall be responsible for broad policy matters on academic issues without dealing with individual cases.
  3. It shall have the control and general regulatory powers on matters relating to education and training.
  4. It shall be responsible for the maintenance of standard of instruction, education and examination within the University and shall exercise such other powers and duties as are conferred on it.
  5. It shall be responsible for the determination of equivalence of degrees of the candidates applying for admission from other universities, and shall be the final authority to make selection out of the applicants for admission.
  6. It shall perform all such duties, as may be necessary for the proper conduct of the programmes of PG education. The membership of the Academic Council shall be regulated mutatis-mutandis in accordance with the provisions of Rules No. 3 to 11 of Board of Management.

vii Director, Central Avian Research Institute Member(By virtue of post)
viii Chief Hostel Warden Member(By virtue of post)
ix Two representatives from the PG faculty Member(By virtue of post)
x Two student representatives from IVRISC Member(By virtue of post)
xi DDG (Edn.) or his nominee Member(By virtue of post)
xii Registrar Member Secretary(By virtue of post)
Note:
  1. The four eminent scientists mentioned at item (v) above shall be nominated by the Chairman of the Academic Council on the recommendations of the Joint Director (Academic) the tenure of their membership will be for 2-years.
  2. The two representatives from the PG faculty mentioned at item (ix) shall be elected annually through secret ballot by the faculty members.
