In July 2004 it was merged in CADRAD, and again recreated on 31st December 2013 with revised mandates:

• Human resource development in Veterinary epidemiology.
• To conduct epidemiological studies on existing, emerging and re-emerging health and production problems of livestock and poultry.
• To provide consultancy as and when required for investigation, control and prevention of livestock and poultry diseases.
