Major Achievements

  • Zone of thermo-neutrality and the upper critical temperature of Haryana and crosses bred cows was investigated.
  • Successful Embryo Transfer in goats and first transplanted kid was born.
  • FSH was isolated and purified from the slaughterhouse derived buffaloes pituitary.
  • Technique for the bioassay of buffalo LH was standardized.
  • Steroid impregnated intrauterine sponges, suitable for goats were developed for the first time in India.
  • Increases in glucose level (5.5 mg/ml) in the maturation medium along with hormone enhanced maturation rate to 71% in case of buffalo oocytes.
  • Both FSH-P and Superov increased transferable embryo recovery rate, in cyclic cows, more than two fold with pretreatment (250 IU hCG and 24h latter 2mg estradiol-17β S/C) protocol.
  • Antibodies against rbST were developed.
  • About 15-30 % increase in conception rate was achieved by injection of insulin in cows.
  • A 3D culture protocol developed for ex vivo preantral follicles culture in buffalo.
  • A pregnancy specific 75kDa protein was isolated from buffalo pre-implantation embryos.
  • A new vitrification protocol of oocytes was developed.
  • Stem cells were isolated and cultured from gonadal ridges.
  • Protocol developed for generation of haploid and diploid parthenogenetic caprine embryos.
  • Supplementation of sodium bicarbonate, KCl and Zinc sulphate significantly reduced the summer stress in buffalo.
  • Extract egg used as a replacement of FBS for culture of caprine MSCs and for reprogramming of fetal fibroblast cells.
  • MSCs conditioned media can be effectively used for the enhanced quality buffalo embryo production in vitro.
  • HSP70.1 investigated as molecular biomarker of heat stress in goat and buffalo.
  • Canine Mesenchymal stem cells were successfully used for clinical applications like paralysis, skin wounds and bone injury etc.
