IVRI is more than 125 years old Institute but it was not having any Central Museum on Veterinary and Animal Sciences. National Museum of Veterinary and Animal Sciences was established on 2nd June, 2014 vide Office Order No. F.62-1/2014-EI. It was renamed as National Animal Science and Veterinary Educational Museum (NAS&VEM) on recommendation of 50th meeting of Board of Management on 3-10-2015 at Instiute. The process of establishment of The National Animal Science and Veterinary Education Museum (NAS&VEM) was initiated as one of the national level centre during the quasquicentennial celebrations of Indian Veterinary Research Institute in 2014. Aim was to portray and promote awareness on the glorious history and scientific achievements of the Veterinary and Animal Sciences in the country. Museum came into reality with joining of Dr R.K. Singh as Director, IVRI in February, 2014. The museum is located in approximately 100 years old residential heritage building GOB I in Izatnagar, Campus. Its vintage look has been nicely maintained and spacious lush green lawns were developed.
