Lecture Capturing System

  • The lecture capturing system is playing an important role in student resource development by making provision of e-content through live lecture recording in audio and video format.
  • The ICAR-IVRI Izatnagar has two Lecture Capturing Systems (LCS) in its virtual classrooms located in the Veterinary Biotechnology Division and the Agricultural Research Information System (ARIS) Cell.
  • The recorded lectures are subsequently uploaded on the ICAR Agri-Diksha Portal, a platform for sharing e-content related to agricultural education to enable students and faculty to access recorded lectures conveniently, promoting self-paced learning and providing additional learning resources.
  • By using LCS, IVRI has uploaded 46 lectures on the Agri-Diksha portal so far.
  • Lecture Capturing System of IVRI have four components namely digital podium for lecturer, interactive panel, tracking camera and lecture capturing software-Panapto.
    • The digital podium controls all connected devices and it contains a 4-channel amplifier, a 4+ channel mixer, and an i5 processor-based computer system.
    • The interactive panel with motorized adjustments for user convenience houses an 86-inch interactive panel with 4K Ultra HD resolution visualizer for displaying physical documents and objects. Faculty members use this panel to write and interact with digital content directly on the screen, enhancing the interactivity of lessons.
    • A high-definition PTZ tracking camera tracks the faculty's movements, ensuring they remain in focus at all times.
    • A Panopto software is used to capture lectures in real time, recording video, audio, and screen content simultaneously.
  • The LCS is equipped with four speakers positioned at various corners of the room, along with a variety of microphones (gooseneck, collar, cordless, handheld).
  • One LCS installed in the virtual classroom at the Veterinary Biotechnology Division under the NAHEP World Bank project has a seating capacity of 40 students.
  • Another LCS installed in the virtual classroom at the ARIS Cell has a seating capacity of 20 students.
