Details of Theatre

• The institute has two structures namely theatre-cum-auditorium and an amphitheatre facility for related purposes.
• Theatre-cum-auditorium facility in the Swami Vivekanand Auditorium at ICAR-IVRI is a state-of-art facility catering to the needs for artistic expressions, skill developments, and personal growth of students, scholars, researchers, and faculties in various cultural, and academic-oriented programs organized in the institute from time to time. Additionally, this facility is contributing to revenue generation by providing the same on a rental basis to various outside agencies.
• The theatre-cum-auditorium has a capacity of 750 seats, and it is constructed in two floors.
• The covered area of the ground floor is 2825.03 sqm, and the covered area of the first floor is 1302.91 sqm.
• There is an impressive gate on the front of the facility and various other entry gates are available on three different sides of both floors of the facility.
• The main hall of theatre-cum-auditorium has comfortable chairs, appropriate lighting, and sound systems and a control room for its operation. Two green rooms have been created separately for men and women on the rear side of this hall with toilet and bath facilities.
• Besides this, there are separate washrooms for men and women on both floors on both sides of the auditorium. Moreover, a washroom has also been made for disabled individuals on the ground floor.
• Fire information system and fire control system are installed in the theatre-cum-auditorium along with a fire pump system and a water tank of one lakh litres at the rear side of the building.
• The theatre-cum-auditorium has been furnished with appropriate necessary furniture.
• Large, beautiful lawns have been developed around the building, which adds to the grandeur of this building.
• The amphitheatre was inaugurated on 6th September 2018.
• The facility is being used for teaching and training purposes.
• It has a sitting and standing capacity of about 80 students/trainees and is well-furnished with adequate lighting, ventilation, and cooling facilities.
• It has an office, store, sitting space for staff, and washrooms.
• The facility is being used for the demonstration of casting and restraining methods of animals for the benefit of the students, farmers, and other trainees.
