Eastern Regional Station of ICAR-IVRI is the only center of its kind in eastern and north-eastern India which is engaged in:

• Research on animal diseases with special emphasis on zoonotic diseases
• Providing referral diagnostic facilities of animal diseases and investigating outbreaks of various diseases in the region.
• Imparting specialized training courses for human resource development.
• Acting as a window for dissemination of technology at farmers’ door through various extension activities.
• Collaborating with various ICAR institutes, SAUs/ SVUs, State Department of Animal Husbandry, KVKs, ICMR, Medical Institutes and other reputed organizations including NGOs etc. for all round development of animal resources.
