ICAR-IVRI Games and Sports Cell facilitates the games and sports activities of the scientists, staff members and their wards and students of Deemed University. The institute has very good outdoor sports stadium and infrastructure for indoor games in the premise. Facilities are available for various games including Football, Volleyball, Cricket, Basketball, Hockey, Kabaddi, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Badminton and different athletic events. Every year, we celebrate the Institute’s Foundation Day on 9th December by conducting three days Annual Games and Sports Meet, wherein all games and sports events are organized for staff and students of the ICAR-IVRI Deemed University. Our teams participate in the ICAR Zonal (Eastern) and Inter-Zonal tournaments every year. Moreover, our team also participates in the various games and sports events at the local level. Our institute has been bestowed with zonal championships in Badminton, Table-Tennis, Volleyball (Shooting), Cycle Race and other athletic events on many occasions. Being a Deemed university, we are member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and participate in games and sports activities conducted by AIU. The student contingent of our institute participates in the Inter-Agricultural University and ICAR Inter Deemed University tournaments regularly. ICAR-IVRI also hosted ICAR Zonal (Eastern) and Inter Zonal Sports Tournament many times and very recently we got a honor to host the ICAR sports tournament for Eastern Zone (TEZ 2022) at this prestigious institute of world fame during 24th -27th April, 2023. We extended our hospitality and facilities to more than 450 participants from 22 ICAR institutes from the eastern states of the India. Our Institute has won overall championship in ICAR sports tournament for Eastern Zone (TEZ 2022) among the 18 participating institutes
